My First NASCAR Race

Sep 12

Yesterday, Andrew, his dad, my mom, my brother and I went to Richmond, VA for the race.  This was a first for mom, Erick and I and we had a blast.  We got the bus at 11 a.m. and arrived at the track around 4:30.  After walking half way around the track and up what seemed to be a million stairs, we finally found our seats which turned out to be really good because although we were in the backstretch we were able to see almost the entire way around the track.  We took lots of pictures which you can see on Facebook and on mine and Andrew’s website.  The pre-race festivities were very patriotic since it was 9/11 and everyone was given a small flag and were encouraged to wave it at different times during pre-race as well as from laps 9 to 11 of the race.  The flyover was absolutely amazing and is soo much better to see in person than on T.V.  The cars were so loud I was grateful for earplugs.  I kinda feel bad for the fans that didn’t have any ear protection but they should be able to hear by Wednesday…hopefully.  I’m already looking foreword to going to another race but that won’t be until next year.
